St. Ignatius of Antioch Maronite Catholic Church, Dayton, Ohio is proud to sponsor their 17th Annual Dayton Lebanese Festival to be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 27,28 and 29, 2010 at their new 5-acre home at 5915 Springboro Pike (S,R. 741), Dayton (Miami Township), Ohio! The festival features authentic Middle-Eastern food and pastries, traditional dancing by St. Ignatius Debbke Troupe, belly dancing by Conchi and her dance troupe Alhambra and dance troupes Raks Devi, Egyptian Breeze, Kira of Kira's Oasis and others. In addition, there will be amusement rides and games for all ages and, for adults, various games of chance: Poker, Showdown, and Blackjack. Admission is FREE. Free on site parking. Free overflow parking available across the street at Meijer department Store.
There is a full menu of authentic hand made Lebanese foods of kibbee, kafta, marinated garlic chicken, falafel, shawarma ("Lebanese gyro"), tabouli salad, fatush salad, (Middle-Eastern bread salad), stuffed grape leaves, hummus dip, homemade Middle-Eastern mountain bread with zhata seasoning and a variety fresh delicious Lebanese pastries.
Also providing a large selection of Middle-Eastern gifts, the extremely popular ladies hips carves (this year including many children's sizes), cultural displays and a number of arts and crafts vendor booths. On Sunday, August 29th at 10:00am there will be a Maronite-Rite, Eastern Catholic Mass celebrated by St. Ignatius' Pastor, Reverend Pierre Bassil, in English, Arabic and Aramaic-Syriac language (the language spoken by Jesus Christ and including one of the oldest Eucharistic prayers in the Catholic Church.)
We are pleased to also provide a variety of ice cold beverages including imported Lebanese beer and wine.
